Understanding the labels on your fertilizer bag
Fertilizers are chemical elements supplied to crops to increase their productivity. Typically fertilizers contain nitrogen, potassium, and phosphorus. Fertilizers enhance the retention capacity of the soil and increase its fertility.
The general definition of NPK are as listed:
- Nitrogen – The leaf maker. Symbol as N
- Phosphorus – The root maker/flower inducer. Symbol as P
- Potassium – The flower inducer/fruit maker. Symbol as K
